Finding my Rock

A long time ago in a far away land, called Logan Utah, I fell in love with Kyle Ashcraft.

{Us now}

We were young and stupid... or should I say younger and stupider, and we just didn't know how to be in a relationship.
So when the semester ended we broke up, but being silly we couldn't stop talking to each other so we called each other every night to talk as friends.
"Friends" wasn't as easy as it sounded. I would try to date but everyone else just wasn't right.
Kyle tried as well and come to find out... he didn't want to be with anyone else either.
Summer began to feel like it was going on forever. With him in Utah and me back home in Nevada even if we wanted to change things it just felt impossible. We became desperate to at least try and by mid July we had hatched a plan to see each other again.
I would move back to school a week early for school, and he would take that week off to help me move in.
I spoke to my roommates and of course being the supportive and romantic women that they are they were more then fine with it.

Right after my parents left Kyle arrived. I was so happy to see him that when he finally arrived it took everything in me not to kiss him right then. But I was determined to be a lady and to see how he wanted things to be before I went any further.
For hours he and I folded and organized my stuff. He is much better at this then me and I was really impressed by how quickly things were getting done. Then panic set in.
What would we do when there was nothing left to do?
Would we talk about last year?
Would it become awkward and ruin the whole week?
That's when Kyle asked if he could play something on his ipod. He had just bought a new cd and wanted to know what I thought about it.
Sure. Anything. I thought, as long as the awkward stayed away I would let him do anything.
He plopped onto the bed.
And began to hum along to the music.
I laughed.
He patted the bed beside him, as if he wanted me to join him, then he did the unthinkable... he picked up my teddy bear. AH please please please don't make fun of me I thought.
Then he laughed.
And the song changed.
It was Ferras Soul Rock... I sat beside him. He sang, and made my Teddy dance to the music.
Then he leaned over and kissed me.
We were together again, I couldn't be happier if I tried.
We spent the rest of the week having crazy adventures with all of our friends. Our lives seemed so perfect.

That silly song became kind of a theme song for our relationship.
And when the wind changed and he and I began to struggle with our relationship again I would hum that song and know that it was all going to work out.

And it did work out..
